illustrated journals

Lately I've been trying to connect with my creative self.

Of the things in the world that I find influencing, one big contributor is other people's creativity. In addition to blogrolling, I've been using flickr's groups and 'interestingness' to explore what other people are doing.

One of the topics I have stumbled upon is illustrated journals. I found this one today (see photo for collage screenshot) by Karen Blados. Her sketches are inspiring, combined that she integrates her sketches with thoughts in her journal.

For others this may not seem unusual, but for me it is stepping out of my box. I am a visual person, but I am a linear person. I don't see shapes. I see straight lines. I am trying to add some dimension and color to how I approach life.

Illustrate your life!
And if you're like me and you can't, appreciate the talents of those who do.
