How do you tell if the information on a web site is reliable? This is a question that we pose to our students and staff and used this to demonstrate how easy it is to put crazy information online and make it look believable. Even though I live in this two and know this information to not be true, who would ever believe that there are whales in the Minnesota River? Or that there were pyramids here that rival those in Egypt?
According to this local news story these people came to Mankato this week on their vacation to see just these wonders of the world because this *official* Mankato web site described them so.
Crazy.
