Last night C asked all of us to join her in helping with the local Toys for Tots program. Her office has collected toys for the program the past couple of years and this year she thought it would be good to help out even more by helping assemble the gift packages that the Marines will distribute to families in our community.
The kids were great workers and had fun helping out. We started working as two teams to assemble the packages, but by the end of the night we all were working individually filling the bags for families. Even Grace got in on the action by helping carry and organizing packages.
We all said afterward that we'd like to do it again next year. Nate was initially resistant to go, but afterward said he was really glad he did. He just insisted I not make a big deal about it.
I am very fortunate and I have great kids to boot...
