In 1986 I bought my first car. It was one week before my 18th birthday. It was a 1969 MG B GT. It was a hardtop two seat with Pirelli tires and a lot of rust. Because it was classified as a sports car, I paid more to have liability insurance for six months than I did the car. The brakes went out on it a month later. The cost for parts for new brakes cost more than what I paid and since they were the first to go and I wasn't looking to restore the car, it sat for a few months and then got junked. I really should have never bought the thing, it really was a piece of junk, but for a month or so it was the coolest car on the road. It taught me a few lessons that I remember and think of to this day. And even though my time with her was short, I still have fond memories of her. You never forget your first car.
